
Our Intake Process

Get in touch! (all clients) here.
Upon contact, an intake appointment will be scheduled where the parent/carer or the adult client can discuss concerns, obtain information regarding the counselling process and/or any questions can be answered.
The first therapeutic session can then be scheduled.
Children 4-12: From intake a Family session can be scheduled.
Children 4 - 12
An initial play therapy room session will be scheduled during the initial communications, with parents/carers in attendance to encourage familiarity and safety within the room and to establish a rapport.
Adolescents 13+
After the initial parental intake, an appointment will be made for adolescents to meet with Carole to discuss the process. Parental/carer attendance is optional.
Initial Play Therapy Family Session (Ages 4 - 12)
This session provides a warm introduction for your child to meet the therapist and experience the play room, in the company of a parents or carers. A family activity can be offered, or your child can simply explore the room at their own pace. This provides the opportunity to both parent/s or carers and children to familiarise themselves with the play therapy environment.
For adolescents 13+/adults
Following an intake session (with a parent/carer for adolescents), clients will meet with Carole to ensure compatibility, comfort and safety. Parent/carer attendance is optional.
For remote clients
For remote clients and accessibility needs, telehealth may be offered in this instance.
1:1 Weekly* Counselling Sessions (all clients)
Carole provides a welcoming, safe space within her office and playroom to work one on one with yourself, child or adolescent to explore a trauma-informed, client-led narrative.
*The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on family and individual circumstances.
Carole encourages full transparency and communication with regular 5-weekly Parent/Carer sessions (for children 4-12 years) to address any concerns from any/all parties, to discuss any noticeable changes and provide support and/or guidance to parents, clients and caregivers.
